AI search optimisation

Get named when buyers ask AI for a shortlist

More B2B buyers now start research by asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google's AI Overviews. These tools answer with a few names. Generative engine optimization, or GEO, is the work of making sure yours is one of them, for the right questions, with the right description.

What you get

  • 01AI visibility check across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews
  • 02Prompt set: the real questions your buyers ask
  • 03Entity clarity: consistent facts about your company everywhere
  • 04Pages AI tools can quote: comparisons, specs, pricing context, FAQs
  • 05Third-party mention plan: reviews, lists, communities, PR
  • 06Monthly tracking of mentions, citations and referral traffic

How it works

  1. 1

    Baseline

We test the questions buyers ask and record who gets named, cited and recommended today.

  2. 2

    Fix the facts

Your site, profiles and structured data tell one clear story about what you do and for whom.

  3. 3

    Earn citations

Quotable pages on your site and mentions on the sites AI tools already trust.

  4. 4

    Track

The same prompt set every month, so you can see the share of answers you win.

Why B2B brands should care now

When a buyer asks an AI tool "what are the best GPU cloud providers in India" or "which logistics parks near Mumbai suit an e-commerce warehouse", the answer is a short list. There is no page two. If you are not on that list, the buyer may never visit your site at all.

This does not replace search. Google is still where most B2B research happens. But AI answers increasingly shape the shortlist before a buyer ever clicks. I explain the mechanics in what is generative engine optimization.

What actually moves AI visibility

  • Clear facts. What you do, who you serve, where you operate, how you price. Stated the same way on your site, your LinkedIn page, directories and partner pages.
  • Quotable pages. Comparison pages, specifications, use cases and FAQs that answer a question in a few clean sentences an AI tool can lift.
  • Mentions elsewhere. AI tools lean on sources they already trust: review sites, industry lists, communities and news. A plan to earn those mentions is part of the work.
  • Technical access. Making sure the crawlers behind these tools can reach and read your pages, with structured data that removes ambiguity.

Built on solid SEO

Most of what helps GEO also helps classic rankings, so I run it alongside B2B SEO rather than as a separate island. The keyword and question research in B2B keyword research becomes the prompt set we track. And for brands that need results faster, Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads cover demand while organic and AI visibility build.

Frequently asked questions

What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?

GEO is the practice of improving how often and how accurately AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention and cite your brand in their answers. It builds on SEO, but focuses on being quoted and recommended, not only ranked.

Is GEO different from SEO?

They overlap a lot. Both need crawlable, useful pages and authority. GEO puts extra weight on clear facts about your company, content that is easy to quote, and mentions on third-party sites, because AI answers are assembled from many sources rather than a list of ten links.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my company?

No one can honestly guarantee that, because AI answers change and differ by user and prompt. What I can do is measure your current visibility, fix what holds you back, and track the share of relevant answers that mention you over time.

How do you measure AI search visibility?

I run a fixed set of buyer prompts across the main AI tools every month and record mentions, citations and how you are described. I also track referral traffic from AI tools in your analytics, and ask new leads where they first heard of you.

Do I need GEO if I already do SEO?

If your buyers use AI tools for research, yes, at least a baseline check. Good SEO covers much of the groundwork, but entity clarity, quotable pages and third-party mentions usually need deliberate work.
